Hip & Simple Creativity

My first Mother’s day

This year was my first Mother’s day. Stephen told me he had something planned but wouldn’t tell me what it was. He made me breakfast, french toast with Great Harvest Cinnamon Burst bread. Then Reece and I took a nap – yep right after breakfast! We then got ready and headed to the car. Stephen told me to bring my camera and he took me to Utah Lake, which is about 20 minutes from our house. I had never been there and had mentioned that a couple of weeks before and how I wanted to check it out for photography spots. What a sweet guy to remember that. He looked up where to go and things to do in that area and planned it out. We walked around and snapped some photos – what a gorgeous place! I forget sometimes how much beauty surrounds me in this state but sometimes it takes my breath away!

After the lake we went to Cracker Barrel for lunch and then our regular weekly grocery shopping. We got a little blow up pool for the back yard for Reece.

He enjoyed it and the new rubber duckies we got – Royce and Molly really wanted to pluck the ducks out of the water while he played!

Stephen also gave me a sweet card and The Lion King 2 (we recently got the first one – trying to beef up our Disney collection for when our kids are into movies)! It was such a good day, I enjoyed every minute of it and am so impressed Stephen remembered my comment about the lake! I am so grateful that he gave me the gift of motherhood, being a parent is amazing and there is no one else I would rather go through it with than him. Reece makes me happy every day and is such a joy to my life. I love being his mommy!
