Do you have a minecraft lover on your Christmas list and need a last minute gift idea? I’ve got this Minecraft Double Sided Blanket idea that’s pretty quick and easy to pull together.
I’ve got Minecraft lover on my list this year. It’s not anything that I know about. I assumed that the green (creeper) character below was the only thing about minecraft but I was set straight that their are in fact other characters. Enderman is the purple character below and is a favorite of my niece so I wanted to incorporate it into a gift. I picked up black and green fleece at 48 x 60 inches. I cut 5 inch squares of cotton fabric black (16 squares) for the creeper face and 4 light pink and 2 purple squares. I ironed over a 1/4″ seam around the edges of all the squares. Then I sewed them down to the individual pieces of fleece.
After this was finished, I put the fleece outside (faces) facing one another. I sewed around the entire edge, leaving a 5 inch gap. Shove your arm in that gap and start turning the blanket out. I hand stitched the gap closed.
All in all this only took about an hour and a half total. It’s large, very soft and light weight. Still doable for Christmas or something to work on after the holiday season calms down a bit.
I took a few pictures outside because this thing is quite big. Then I washed it and trimmed any loose threads and folded it all nice with a big bow on it. I am so pleased with how this turned out and how easy it was! Very excited to gift it this Christmas.
