Hip & Simple Creativity

Neutral Baby Boy Nursery

The nursery is ready and just waiting for the baby to arrive! I love the way it turned out.

Baby’s view under the mobile.

My talented grandma made this quilt for us. We have a matching receiving blanket packed in our hospital bag.

We planned to have our recliner in the basement but it would have been tight so we moved it to the nursery but had already bought the rocking chair. When I told Stephen we could take the rocking chair back he said no let’s keep it because I will probably be in there with you and the baby so we can both have a seat. In my hormonal emotionalness, I was completely touched by that. He is so excited about this kid and he is going to be a great dad! I am thinking we need to make a cushion for the chair.

My awesome mother-in-law bought us the blue side table. It is from Ikea and is a kitchen cart but I just flipped the top shelf.

It is great for us to have books near by so we can read to him before bed!

My mom made this scooter rocker! Here is more info on it.

You will begin to notice that I have a small obsession with owls!

I designed these prints and posted about them here. I had planned on mounting them on wood, canvas or finding frames but had a hard time finding 12 x12 that worked as I had in mind. Wood boards are actually 11 3/4 not 12 and would have cut into the design. I got a 4 foot x 4 foot board and added molding around it. I love the way it turned out!

My mother-in-law sent this! I literally “eeked” when I opened it!

I wanted the design to be pretty clean and organized but there are many essential items that need to be somewhere in the room. I am not big on changing tables but we got this one for $20 and it fits perfectly in the closet.

Again with the owls! We got a blow up changing pad from Ikea for $6. It seems like it will work well but no kid has laid in it yet so that has not been confirmed!

Once we are done with the changing table we will store stuff in the top of the closet and the bins will be nice to organize everything! I need to make labels for the bins! We have receiving blankets, sleepers, socks, larger clothes in all of the bins. We also store our stock of diapers underneath.

I love Ikea for this nursery apparently. We got this shoe organizer from Ikea to store things like diapers, burp cloths, extra sheets, etc.

I am loving all of the clothes we have for him, I look through them and get so excited, I have many “favorites”. These are only size Newborn to 6 months. Some still have tags as I have heard some babies out grow clothes before there is a chance to wear them so hopefully I can get some use out of them or exchange them for a larger size!

These are the bigger blankets we have received. I have many talented family and friends that have given us these things! I am sure you can never have enough blankets.

Molly has been super clingy and she follows me around everywhere. This is how she was watching me while I was taking pictures! She looks how I feel waiting for this little guy to arrive!
