Hip & Simple Creativity

Father’s Day – Pinterest Style

For Stephen’s first Father’s day and the fact that my dad was in town, we had a BBQ with my brother’s over. I, like many, am totally obsessed with Pinterest. I have found so many cool ideas and inspiration from other’s creativity. In fact, I found myself and a couple of posts from this blog on Pinterest the other day and that was super flattering! To get ready for Father’s day I took to my pin boards for ideas.

We had a regular old BBQ. One thing I am trying to teach myself is how to make bread. I have had some successes and some fails but it is a learning process. I found this recipe for rolls and have been dying to try it, this seemed like the perfect time. They don’t look bad, not perfect but I was impressed with the turn out!

For dessert I made these dessert pizza tarts. I have loved dessert pizza since I was a kid but this was a fun new way to try it. They were a total hit and we had 2 left at the end of the night!

For Stephen’s first Father’s day gift, I wanted it to be fun and something baby related since the baby hasn’t arrived quite yet. Stephen is a huge Alabama fan and we have a lot of houndstooth print around the house. I have seen a lot of different ideas for fancy onsies for baby boys so I drew inspiration from them and created my own. I totally love them. I can’t believe how small they are! I can’t wait to put our little guy in them! Stephen loved them!

Overall it was a successful and fun Father’s day and it was nice to have my brothers over and a full house. We had some good visiting and it was a great time!
