Turkey Apple Sandwiches

I have an excellent, tasty and super quick sandwich for you. It’s filling and great for lunch but also would be good for dinner with some soup on a brisk fall day. This turkey apple sandwich will mix things up if you are in a food rut and you’ll love how easy it is.

All you do is take some deli turkey and lay it out on a cookie sheet. Top with provolone cheese and bake in the oven for about 5 mins at 350 degrees.

While the oven is doing it’s job, cut up some veggies and apples. I love gala apples, they are my favorite but have had this with many different kinds and they all work great. The turkey apple sandwich is made special with the flavor combo but also the texture, especially of the apple.

At first the idea of fruit on a sandwich seemed just wrong but I promise this works and it works well!

You want the cheese to be melty and the turkey to be hot. Toast a couple pieces of bread and you are ready to assemble to your liking. I like this with tomato and mayo and my husband likes it plain. You want to eat this while it’s still warm. I’ve tried it with untoasted bread and it’s just not the same. It would be very tasty, although different textures, with some leftover turkey from Thanksgiving dinner.

When I was working full time in an office, I would bring this for lunch every couple of weeks and prepare it in the microwave. Although the oven always tastes better to me, that works and really adds some variety and more gourmet feel on the sandwich in the brown bag lunch.

This turkey apple sandwich has become a go to for us but we try to rotate it so we don’t get burnt out. Isn’t that always the way it seems to go, there always comes a time when things feel so overdone and you need to shake it up a bit. Hopefully this gives you another idea to add to your arsenal of food ideas.
